Maintaining Account Segments

After editing account segments, you may need to close General Ledger and reopen the program before some changes take effect.

1. Click SETUP on the Main Menu screen and then click SEGMENTS on the Maintain Ledger Settings screen that appears. The Maintain Account Segments screen opens with all account segments displayed in a table.
2. Highlight the account segment record you want to work with and click . The bottom of the screen becomes available to edit.
3. Edit, as necessary, the segment description and length (exact number of characters in the segment).
4. Edit, as necessary, the separator (appears after the segment in the account number and the program ignores the separator for the last segment, because it would appear after the entire account number), and contents (defines whether your account numbers contain letters, numbers (digits), or both in this segment).
5. The segment table displays one row of information for each segment. If necessary, select the segment you wish to move in the table and use the and buttons to change the order of the segments within the account number.
6. Click to save and apply your changes.
